Degree courses include a wide variety of interesting subject that will teach you new skills and expand your perspective on art. You can choose to learn about the history of art, and how its application has affected education theory. You may choose to learn about developmental psychology, which could be very useful when dealing with young children and adolescents. Other classes may include curriculum design, educational psychology, testing and assessment, and instructional strategies. Art classes may include ceramics, painting, drawing, and art history.

You will of course learn a lot about art, and its application in the classroom. You will learn how to pan lessons effectively and how to organize interesting projects. You will learn how to present lessons and different strategies for engaging students.

Art education salaries can vary widely, but will start around $12,000 rising to over $100,000 for those with the appropriate experience. The median expected salary for an art director in the United States is $106,146. Art, drama, and music professors earn about $88,000. K-12 art teachers earn $31,120 - $51,612 annually. Art education degrees therefore offer the chance of a rewarding career passing on your knowledge to others.
