According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the median income for bus and truck mechanics and diesel engine specialists is about $18.00/hr but the range begins from about $10.50 to $26.00. This of course would increase as you gain more experience or become a supervisor or manager. On the high end a career in automotive technology management can earn you between $75,000 to $100,000 a year and a Master level mechanics make between $55,500 and $65,600.
