Those in the lowest 10% earn about $10.00 and hour while the highest 10% earn over $28.00/hr. It is predicted that carpenters have good prospects over the next several years in the United States. Attending carpentry schools prepares professional carpenters for this career path. There will be less competition, as many workers would rather work in a less physically demanding job. Employment growth is predicted to occur at the same rate as most of the construction industry and the increasing demand for new factories, residential, and commercial buildings will require more carpenters.
