You will need at least an associate degree in education, child development, or childcare to work as a childcare provider but to become a teacher you would need a four-year degree from an accredited university through an education degree program. You would also need to pass a state certification exam prior to employment by a school district. Private schools operate differently, and many may not require educators to have state certification.
