Online Finance Education and Training

Associate business finance degree programs would provide students with basic business theory as well as concepts that govern financial dealings and legal regulations. Such a course would allow students to have access to tools that are needed to assess and analyze financial positions and make decisions on investments.

A bachelor finance degree course would go into detail on concepts that govern financial transactions throughout the business world. There would be an emphasis on both math and statistics. Typical modules would include the principles of economics, business statistics and analysis, and financial law.

A higher-level degree like the MBA finance MBA offers an in depth level of training that positions graduates for an important role in the world of business. Advanced financial management, and the analysis of new methods and techniques would need to be understood, alongside the principles of risk management and derivatives. Predicting market conditions and creating financial solutions would form an essential component of the study.

Finance Careers

There is a range of exciting opportunities available to finance graduates. All businesses require assistance at some time from individuals that are familiar with the world of finance. A degree holder can be offered a number of positions, for example in a bank or corporation, or they may choose to open their own agency or consultation firm. Possible options include becoming a credit analyst, finance officer, financial advisor, business analyst, loan officer, or an investment banker.

Many graduates with a finance degree choose to work as financial analysts. Careers can be had in government agencies and not just the private sector. For example, the Department of Treasury recruits a number of finance graduates on a yearly basis, as does various state and local authorities.

Expected Salary and Projected Career Growth

As of 2008, there were more than 250,000 people employed with this job title in the US. The median annual salary, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, stood at $70,000. Financial managers held more than half a million positions in the same year and commanded a higher median salary of $96,000.

Jobs related to the financial sector are somewhat cushioned from fluctuations in the national economy. In fact, during the recession, there was a greater demand for financial experts, as their skills and knowledge were called upon to help streamline businesses and improve efficiency. It is expected that the career outlook for qualified professionals with a finance degree will grow between seven and twenty per cent in the coming decade. The openings in the private sector are expected to increase faster than in the public domain.
