By attending graphic art colleges, students will be able to enter into a competitive but lucrative career field. Graphic design is part of the visual design and visual communication program of study.

Many students that attend one of these higher learning institutions will be able to analyze, plan and create a plethora of visual solutions to common communication problems. It is important to keep in mind that if a student does receive a degree that is lower than a bachelors their pay scale, as long as their job type may differ. Generally, students with a degree from graphic art colleges that is lower than a bachelors will enter into this exciting field as an assistant to the primary graphic artist in charge.

Expected Income and Expected Career Growth

As of 2008, the median wages for graduates of graphic art colleges were around $42,000. The top 50% of students that were engaged in this field earned around $32,000 to $56,000 on an annual basis. However, the highest 10% were able to gross $76,000 per year. Of course, the amount of money that a student can earn upon graduation will depend upon the type of company that they are employed by after receiving their proper certifications.
