International Relations Training and Education

In addition to taking international relations courses, the degree in International Relations or International Affairs additional classes in political sciences, sociology, history, human geography, physical geography, and business will be required, since this is a multidisciplinary degree approach.

During the four-year international relations course you will learn about the importance of global issues. This will be done by examining the past and looking at twenty first century problems. You will use many organizations such as the Red Cross, the UN and the World Bank as a learning base. Some of the areas of study will focus on: Social and Cultural Anthropology, Economics, Microeconomics, Geography of World Affairs, A Modern Language other than English and Political Science.

Specific classes in international relations may include: International Crisis Diplomacy, United States Foreign Policy, National and International Security, The Politics of International Trade, International Organizations, Ethics in International Affairs and Development, Global Political Economy, and Global Governance to mention a few.

International Relations Careers

Once you have successfully qualified with your international relations degree, you can go on to having various careers in both the government and non government organizations. Some of the jobs you might be interested in are: European Commissions Administrator, Public Affairs Consultant, Diplomatic Services Operational Office and Civil Service Fast Streamer.
