Laser technician training prepares graduates to perform laser hair removal procedures. Many states have licensing and registration requirements for laser technicians.

Certified laser technician training can be completed through vocational and technical programs. Some training programs can restrict enrollment to nurses or licensed aestheticians or cosmetologists.

After attain certification graduates of laser technician programs can work in spas, salons, and laser hair removal centers. Laser technicians may also work in a dermatologist's office, assisting the doctor. Training and certification qualifies laser technicians to work under supervision at a medical spa or laser center.

With laser technician training, you have chosen a career path that has a job outlook of 38% according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This is very favorable. The income level averages at $15 with a range of $11.00-$17.00 an hour. In 2010 the median hourly wage of skincare specialists was $13.90. The BLS reports that the employment of skincare specialists is expected to grow 25% between 2010 and 2020.
