Once you have obtained a weekend MBA, you will have obtained a Master’s in Business Administration.

This business degree is used for different parts of running a business that can deal with the financial aspects, operations and management to be able to perform the duties of the job efficiently. They are used in a number of fields and nearly every service that makes money will utilize someone that holds this type of degree. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree, you will have to spend the equivalent of two more years to qualify for the Master’s. This allows for preparation into a specific job market, and specialization may be useful for those that have a career path in mind before they graduate. In the MBA program you will focus on finance, management, and business theories. Programs such as these target working professions who have tight weekly schedules including traveling. While some may specialize in a particular area for example marketing, many are also general programs targeted at providing holistic skills and knowledge. This will prepare you to take on leadership roles within companies.

Careers with an MBA Degree

There are a number of jobs that you can get with this, such as a financial analysts or marketing specialist. These are the people that collect and analyze information to make financial decisions for the company. They may also be responsible for the collection and processing of tax information as well as forecasting Profits and losses for the company.

Human Resource managers also have this business degree, and are the ones are responsible for hiring and recruiting new employees. They may also be responsible for retention of personnel as well as managing the records related to them.

For those that choose to run companies, you can choose to be in operation manager. In larger companies this can lead to a department head position where you make the decisions and supervise employees. This can also lead to a CEO position where you are spearheading an entire company.

The salary for those that hold an MBA degree are as varied as the jobs they can be obtained. For those in HR they can expect to earn between $50,000 to $75,000 per year. Financial analysts make on an average of $60,000 to $80,000 annually while top earners to be in excess of $500,000 for those as CEO positions. Because of the variety of jobs, pinpointing down an average salary is extremely difficult. With all the different types of careers available, the average salary falls into the range of $30,000 $140,000 per year.

The expected growth is slow and not expected to change for the foreseeable future. Competition for the jobs available is fierce, but there are jobs to be had in the market. Those that have specialized may find it more difficult to obtain employment at this time.

This should not discourage you from getting your weekend MBA. As the economy improves, the job market will bounce back and demand for those with this degree will be high. There are signs that the employment outlook is improving and it will continue to do so.
